Only 8 days left!
Just redid blogger thingy-do. This week has been very busy. Besides working more than 12 hour a shift, I had to get blood work done and Chest x-ray for up-coming surg. Now am trying to get house work done as well as complete the gift wrapping--Which I have grown to hate! Tape will not hold. bows fall off and Chance putting his ball in my lap so he can play catch. I would like to make "rum balls" but know that I will eat them and chocolate plays havoc on my heart and stomach---and I love chocolate!! By the way, had a cardiogram done and result was a moderate aortic valve regurg and mitral valve regurg. whatever the hell that means---floppy valves, I think. I knew this 7 years ago but I guess the arotic valve has gotten a teeny bit worse--nothing to stop surgery. Of course, I had a bit of incite to this problem when we got a new ventilator pt. this past Fri. She came @ 7pm ( right as it was suppose to be giving report to incoming therapist. The male Squad member bringing her was giving me a brief report and said "this poor lady was to have a mitral valve repair and had coronary arrest on the gurney outside of the OR room. They had to open her up right there and this is the result." I thanked him very much and told him I am going in for surg. next month and have mitral AND aortic valve regurg and really did not needed to hear that. his response was "Oh, you look in much better health then she is." Was he comparing her before or after the heart attack? Cause she sure did not look "good" coming in to us, and I really believe that he did not see her prior to this transport. So, how the hell does he know I look healthier!! Well, gotta go and shower then wrap. Have a great Sunday.
