Merry Christmas

I hope your gatherings, celebrations, or in Rita's case, time at work are safe, happy and bathed in the warmth of good cheer.
Here in Houston (at 7:00 AM) it has turned suddenly cold and blustery. I am getting ready to make buckwheat pancakes. The girls are acting like any 3 yr old on Christmas. They are all over the place playing a loud round of their favorite game of Ninja Kitty Attack.
You know, one of the coolest things about Christmas at Black Road was the arch:
The arch between the front room and the TV room. The arch where the tree was placed. For a cobbled-together old farm house, the arch was a stroke of architectual genius. The arch allowed a tree placed there to fill the house with the warm wonder of Christmas light. The smell of pine quickly followed the reach of the twinkling lights, a house transformed.
Merry Christmas.

You have such an excellent memory! I thought the arches were unique for that date of house. But before you came along there was a piece of plywood against the one between the livingroom and the tv room to privatize Gramma Gaspar's bedroom. A moment of confessions---I have always felt guilty in that the day that she left our house I could not wait to take down the "door" so there would be no obstical between the two rooms, even before she left--Of course I was 13 yrs old and did not know that she would never live to return, fot that was the plan. That to me is such a sad memory and a careless moment in MY life.
Work was not bad but the 12 hours are deffinately taking the toll on my hip, and consequently, my knee. BOOOO HOOOO! What a whiner!
